Report: Chelsea interested in signing Arsenal star
It is being reported that Chelsea will move to take advantage of Alexis Sanchez’ stalled contract situation at Arsenal. According to The Mirror, the Blues have a long-standing interest in the forward and are one of several clubs closely monitoring contract developments at the Emirates.
The club has yet to make an approach, although it is believed that Chelsea are ready to pounce and launch a dramatic bid for Sanchez in the summer, making their front three one of the most feared in Europe.
It is the second time in two days that Sanchez has been linked with a move away from the club, with The Mirror also reporting a £400,000-a-week offer from the Chinese Super League. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal would sell to one of their closest rivals but regardless, it is vital that they tie down Alexis sooner rather than later to fend off any potential suitors.
