Wenger: Sanchez and Ozil will not be sold
|Another week goes by and still neither Alexis Sanchez nor Mesut Ozil have signed new deals with the club. Due to this the former has been linked with a mega move to China, while it is also reported that Chelsea could attempt to sign him if he does not sign a new deal. Today, however, Arsene Wenger has insisted that neither player will be sold, as reported by Sky Sports.
The Arsenal boss insisted that neither player will be sold, even if they fail to agree new deals with the club.
‘No matter what happens they will stay for 18 months and hopefully for much longer.’
When asked if he believed the validity of the rumours linking Sanchez to China, Wenger did not rule it out but questioned why any player would want to move from England to play in China.
‘Why should you go to China today when you play in England?’
Both players have been in superb form this season and are central to any push for silverware for the Gunners this season, Moreover, it seems Wenger has become tired of the constant questioning.
‘You ask always the same things but that doesn’t improve the speed of negotiations. You have to respect the process – sometimes it’s quick, sometimes slow and the only handicap when it’s slow is you get asked in every press conference.’
‘We are professionals – 18 months is a long time in the game and I don’t believe that is a problem. It’s normal to negotiate. The less you talk about it the better it is.’
