Transfer News: Wenger to bid for long-term target

Arsene Wenger is set to dip into the transfer market and put a £30 million bid for long-term transfer target, Julian Draxler according to the Express. Arsenal had targeted Draxler during his time at Schalke and again during the summer but ultimately could not capture the winger.

It is reported that Draxler was unhappy at not being allowed to leave the club in the summer and has made it clear that he is not happy. Due to Draxler’s constant hints over leaving the club, Wolfsburg dropped Draxler from their squad against Bayern Munich and subsequently banned him from the team. Wolfsburg will listen to any offer in the region of £30 million during the transfer window as it seems Draxler has played his last game for the club.

Arsenal’s chief priority is to sign Sanchez and Ozil to new deals but if they could sign Draxler, it might just show some intent, showing both players that Arsenal are going all out to win some silverware this season.
