News: Arsenal winger is bemused by lack of contract talks

Arsenal Football Club are yet to start contract negotiations with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. It was initially reported last week that Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger had begun contract talks with the England international’s representatives but the Daily Mirror reports that this is not the case.

The Mirror concludes that no discussions have been held with player’s representatives as of yet, which has in turn bemused Oxlade-Chamberlain. At present Chamberlain has less than 18 months remaining on this contract, and reports lately suggest the international winger is becoming frustrated by his lack of game time in the first-team. Chamberlain is having one of his most consistent seasons for Arsenal producing scoring six  goals in all competitions alongside six assists.

Arriving from Southampton over five years as a teenager for a fee of £12 million, the winger has gone on to play over 100 games for The Gunners, and the fans will want to see one of their most gifted and liked young players tied down to a new improved and long-term contract.
