Jack Wilshere is yet to be approached over his new contract, the Daily Mail has reported, although Arsene Wenger has insisted the Englishman is very much in Arsenal’s future plans.
The 24-year-old has had a tough few years at Arsenal, thanks to a number of injuries that have kept him out of the action while others have made their case to make his potential spot their own. Having already found himself surplus to the requirements after a loan move to Bournemouth, the England international could now be headed towards a permanent exit with just 18 months left on his current contract at The Emirates Stadium.
While a few might argue that 18 months is a long period, the fact that Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Francis Coquelin and Olivier Giroud are reportedly in advanced contract talks already, points towards something.
Maybe, AC Milan, AS Roma or Manchester City is where Jack’s fate lies, or it may just be that Ozil’s contract has got something to do with Wilshere’s.
