Out of favour defender destined for January move

According to Le Parisien, (h/t The Express)  Marseille are lining up a January loan move for Mathieu DebuchyThis will be the second loan move to Ligue 1 for Debuchy, following a six-month deal with Bordeaux last season.

Following a rather fruitless six months at Bordeaux, it is now Marseille rumoured to be interested in Arsenal’s second choice right-back. Debuchy’s former boss Rudi Garcia worked with the Frenchman at Lille, winning the title, and is said to be eager to bring the experienced 31-year old into his side for the remainder of the season.

Wenger brought Debuchy back into the side for an injured Bellerin, and the veteran impressed before succumbing to yet another injury 15 minutes into the game against Bournemouth. The £12 million signing has had a frustrating time of late, having made only 23 appearances since arriving in 2014. With the Frenchman eager to get minutes under his belt for another run in the international side, the move would make sense for all parties. Should Marseille make an offer, Arsène would be wise to let the right-back make the switch to France and rebuild his confidence.
