Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is demanding a much-improved deal following false reports of Liverpool preparing a bid for him next month, according to Goal.com.
The 23-year-old winger, whose contract expires in 18 months, has found regular first-team football hard to come by this season. Oxlade-Chamberlain has only managed eight Premier League matches this season and has seen his place come under threat from Alex Iwobi.
The English international has seen Hector Bellerin receive a new contract worth £100,000-a-week, while Arsenal are willing to offer reward Alex Iwobi with an improved deal after the Nigerian became a regular in Arsene Wenger’s first team.
Oxlaxe-Chamberlain has only played a full 90 minutes once this season which might tempt him into considering his future in the summer.
Wenger has insisted that Chamberlain in his future plans and could well give the winger a new deal in the New Year, along with multiple other first-team players.
