Arsene Wenger ‘gives green light’ on £38 million deal
|Arsène Wenger has reportedly expressed an interest in PSG’s Lucas Moura, as uncertainty arises over the future of Gunners talisman Alexis Sanchez, according to the Express.
In early December, the Arsenal manager ruled out his star man’s departure, warning other clubs that both the Chilean, and playmaker Mesut Ozil, would not be sold.
However, with just eighteen months to go on his current contract, Sanchez continues to attract interest from a number of top teams, all hoping to sign the forward on a cut-price deal in the Summer.
The club have so far failed to reach a compromise over the player’s wage demands, believed to be somewhere in the region of £250,000-a-week. Worse still, Sanchez himself has appeared visibly frustrated in recent weeks, particularly after the 3-3 draw at Bournemouth, sparking increased speculation over his future.
As a result of this, Arsenal have already begun evaluating alternatives and, preparing for the possibility of the Chilean’s departure, have reportedly already opened talks over a potential move for Lucas Moura. The pacey Brazilian has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League in recent seasons, and has failed to completely establish himself in the French capital.
