Deal close: Gunners midfielder set for move away

Arsenal midfielder Gedion Zelalem will spend the rest of the season in the Dutch second-tier after agreeing a loan switch to VVV-Venlo, as reported by Goal.com

The United States international has found first-team action difficult to come by this season, with his only appearance coming as a substitute in the EFL Cup. After a successful loan spell at Rangers, helping them achieve promotion to the Scottish Premiership, the Arsenal wonder kid will be hoping to gain more valuable first-team experience and gain a physicality that could match his wealth of talent.

The loan move puts to bed rumours surrounding a permanent switch to Borussia Dortmund, in which it was reported that he was keen on a move to the Bundesliga giants.

Zelalem becomes the third Arsenal loanee to make the move to Holland and will find himself in the midst of a promotion battle, with VVV-VENLO currently top of the second division.
