Club legend: Arsenal must win on Saturday to stay in the title race

Club legend, Robert Pires believes Arsenal must beat Chelsea on Saturday if they are to stand any chance of winning the Premier League title, as reported by Sky Sports.

Arsenal currently sit third in the table following a shock 2-1 defeat to Watford on Tuesday night. With that loss in mind, Pires insists that the club must beat Chelsea and moreover, that Ozil and Sanchez are integral in doing that.

“I think this is the last chance for Arsenal and it is a final for the Premier League. If Chelsea beat Arsenal, I think the Premier League is totally finished.”

“Chelsea have played well for four months but if Arsenal beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, anything is possible.

“Arsenal will be more concentrated and more focused and when I see [Alexis] Sanchez and [Mesut] Ozil, they can do something at Stamford Bridge.”

Pires, who coincidently was part of the last Arsenal team to win the Premier League title back in 2003/04, also added that the battle between Laurent Koscielny and Diego Costa will be a key part of the match.

“Laurent Koscielny is a good defender, maybe one of the best defenders in the Premier League,” added Pires.

“He’s very strong, he’s very fast and everybody knows Diego Costa loves to fight, he has scored a lot of goals. So, maybe this is the key for the game.”
