“Wenger is a tactical dinosaur” – Arsenal fans voice displeasure over Wenger starting this player
|It was certainly not the score line Arsenal fans were hoping for, as the Gunners fell 5-1 in the first leg of their Champions League Round of Sixteen match against Bayern Munich.
Although it was respectable at halftime after Alexis Sanchez netted a goal from his deflected penalty miss, it was all things Bayern Munich from start to finish.
Robben scored Bayern Munich’s first goal in the 11th minute with a shot coming from distance after some poor defence from Francis Coquelin. It was from here on in that Munich would dominate possession, despite giving Sanchez a penalty after Laurent Koscielny drew a foul in the box just after half an hour of play.
Lewandowski then got his name on the scoresheet not long after half-time in the 53rd minute followed by two goals from Thiago in the 56th and 63rd minuted. To make matters worse for Arsenal, substitute Thomas Muller scored the fifth goal for the German team in the 88th minute, sealing what was a brutal game for all Arsenal supported to witness.
Evidently, it was not a night to remember for the Gunners, with several players struggling to keep up with the pace of Bayern Munich. Francis Coquelin, in particular, will undoubtedly want to forget his night, being subbed off in the 77th minute after failing to win a tackle all game.

Surely, oh surely, Arsène Wenger has to go. This is beyond embarrassing. Actually feel for Arsenal fans who have to watch this. Atrocious.
