Arsenal chairman issues statement on Wenger’s future
|After crashing out of the Champions League once again, Arsene Wenger’s future has once again become the hottest topic in football.
After another disappointing season, Arsene Wenger is under serious pressure from the fans to finally end his 21-year reign. Although Wenger has been offered a new two-year deal from the club, it is unsure whether the Frenchman will indeed sign the new contract or leave when his contract expires in the summer. With that in mind, Arsenal chairman, Sir Chips Keswick has released a statement concerning Arsene Wenger’s future.
“We are fully aware of the attention currently focused on the club and understand the debate. We respect that fans are entitled to their different individual opinions but we will always run this great football club with its best long-term interests at heart.”
“Arsène has a contract until the end of the season. Any decisions will be made by us mutually and communicated at the right time in the right way.”
