Close friend of Wenger reveals boss’ immense sadness at impending Arsenal exit
|Wenger’s contract situation has been the hottest topic in football over the last few months. The Frenchman’s deal runs out this summer and although the Arsenal board have offered him a new two-year deal, it is still unclear whether the Frenchman will remain at Arsenal or indeed leave.
In an exclusive report by L’Equipe, a close friend of Wenger’s revealed some close-kept secrets on the Arsenal manager, including his sadness at leaving the club and his admission that some of his signings have been poor.
“The results are not as expected, the supporters are angry but Arsene is impervious to outside pressure and has the support of the board. His sadness will be immense, the day he leaves Arsenal. It is he who will decide his future. His contract renewal is on the table. He just has to sign it. He is aware of some errors, especially in recruitment.”
