Arsenal ‘set to bid £8.7m for La Liga defender’

According to Spanish news outlet, Marca, Arsenal are interested in signing Eibar defender, Florian Lejeune. 

Lejeune joined Manchester City in 2015 but after only one season at the Etihad, a season in which he was loaned to Girona, he was subsequently sold to Eibar on a four-year deal. The French defender has been a big part of Eibar’s surprising season which currently sees them sit eight in La Liga. 

Arsenal have been impressed with the defenders and are reportedly ready to seal a deal worth £8.7  million for the defender. Although it remains unclear whether Wenger will stay at Arsenal next season, he has apparently given the go-ahead to sign Lejeune.
