Arsene Wenger to sign one-year deal

Arsene Wenger is set to sign a new one-year deal to stay at Arsenal despite the fan dissatisfaction with the Frenchman, according to the Sunday Express.

After Saturday’s 3-1 loss to West Brom, in which the fan protests even took to the air, Wenger revealed that he had made a decision on his future and would reveal it to the public “very soon”.

It is widely understood that Arsenal have offered Wenger a two-year deal to stay at the club but as reported by the Sunday Express, the Frenchman has made a compromise with the club to stay on for another year rather than two. It seems that although the Frenchman is reluctant to sign a new deal, staying on for one additional year may well give the board time to plan for his departure.
