Arsenal defender a target for Newcastle and Brighton

Carl Jenkinson is a target for both Newcastle and newly-promoted Brighton according to John Cross of the Daily Mirror. 

Both Brighton and Newcastle are keen to strengthen this summer as they look to upgrade their squads ahead of a tough Premier League campaign. Newcastle are ready to back Rafa Benitez with a large budget this summer to ensure that they maintain in the league. 

Jenkinson was close to a move to Crystal Palace in the summer but could not agree terms with the south London club. His deal expires in 2018 but has fallen well down the pecking order at the club and is unlikely to break into the starting lineup.
