Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal will offer Jack Wilshere a new this summer, despite his new injury.
Wilshere has spent the season on loan at Bournemouth this year and although he recently picked up an injury against Tottenham last Saturday, has had a solid campaign with the Cherries.
The south coast club confirmed this week that the 25-year-old suffered a fracture in his fibula and would miss the rest of the season. Although Wenger did confirm that the midfielder would not surgery and will likely be ready fro pre-season training, Wilshere is not in a particularly strong negotiation position for his new deal.
Nevertheless, Wenger has confirmed that Wilshere will be offered a new deal.
“This injury has nothing to do with the extension of Jack’s contract. I don’t know, we haven’t entered into any negotiations.”
“I think for all these cases where there is only one year to go, we will enter into negotiations during the break.
“It’s sad because Jack is a great football player, has a great football brain and his career has been stopped by many injuries”
