“It’s not just the losing but just how far behind we are” – Arsenal fans shocked at 2-0 loss
|The tension was palpable before the last ever North London Derby at the current version of White Hart Lane.
The first-half started relatively positively for Arsenal, restricting Tottenham to playing in the midfield whilst looking dangerous on the counter-attack. Spurs began to dominate, however, after a deflected Harry Kane cross looped onto the head of Dele Alli who somehow managed to miss the open goal and a rash challenge from Oxlade-Chamberlain allowed Son to find Eriksen who hit the bar. This set the tone for the second half where Arsenal were out-thought, outfought and ultimately outplayed.
Arsenal’s midfield looked dysfunctional compared to Spurs’ well-oiled machine and five minutes of madness resulted in two quick-fire goals for the men in white. From then on in Arsenal lacked the intensity and creativity to break-down Tottenham’s well-organised defence who held on for the three points comfortably. Fans reacted on Twitter with criticism for both the players and manager whilst some attempted to remain positive about the situation.
You *almost* get the feeling Arsenal are asked to play a system they don't quite understand.

#arsenal If Wenger had an ounce of humility, dignity or love for the club he would have walked away by now. But alas no. Mentally Shocked.

#Arsenal plays its football like its management: hands off, no plan, no grit. Going thru motions. Picking up paychecks. Stagnant. Sterile.
