Arsenal make enquiry over £20m midfielder

Arsenal have expressed an interest in signing Nice midfielder Jean Michaël Seri, although they will face competition from Tottenham, PSG and Barcelona, according to the Guardian. 

Seri has been outstanding this season and has been one of the players who has pushed Nice to a surprise title challenge this season. Most recently, Seri impressed against PSG last Sunday which has led to Unai Emery shortlisting him as one of his summer targets amid reports that Verratti could leave. 

Arsenal scouts have watched Seri multiple times this season, while it is also reported that Seri has met with officials from Arsenal in London last week. Nice will hold for nothing less than £20 million, indeed the player himself even spoke of a potential move away.

“There are a lot of clubs that follow me. But there is nothing done. If I leave, it will be to join a club where there is a real desire to play football as in Nice. And I’m not going to be on the bench, I’m leaving only if I know I’m going to play.”
