“Traditionally there is a fierce rivalry” – Arsene Wenger ready for tough game against Stoke

After another hard-fought victory over Southampton a couple of days ago, Arsenal are now back in contention for the top-four spot, requiring wins in each of their remaining fixtures while hoping for someone else’s misfortune.

A trip to Stoke now awaits and Arsene Wenger is no mood to be complacent ahead of what he expects to be a tough game,  he told Arsenal’s official website. 

“Traditionally there is a fierce rivalry and they had always a very direct game against us.”

“Overall, I must say as well that they have had good teams. Stoke are now regular participants in the Premier League for years, and that means that anybody who goes there is in trouble.”

“We have to show character again. We know we have to play to win the games, so let’s keep the focus on the way we want to play and on our team spirit.”
