La Liga’s Valencia are apparently interested in Francis Coquelin, Spanish publication AS has reported.
The Arsenal midfielder has failed to nail down a place in Arsene Wenger’s first-choice XI this season, falling further down the pecking order after Granit Xhaka’s rise to prominence.
Earlier, the Frenchman had been seen as a potential successor to Patrick Vieira, but a string of poor performances have led to his downfall.
Now it seems that he may well be on his way out as Valencia look to get their team sorted for the next season. The club are said to be monitoring Coquelin’s situation closely.
While it seems highly unlikely that Arsene Wenger would be interested in selling him, a major arrival in the summer combined with the right offer for Coquelin may change his mind.
