Deal close: Arsenal to agree deal for goalkeeper
|Arsenal’s on-loan goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, has reportedly agreed a deal to join Napoli this summer according to Italian outlet Il Mattino, (h/t the Express).
Szczesny has spent the last two season on loan at Roma after falling behind David Ospina and Petr Cech in the pecking order. Due to his superb form this past season, the Polish international has garnered plenty of interest from multiple clubs, with Roma apparently keen on keeping on a permanent basis. The Arsenal man had hinted earlier this month that he would be happy to stay at Roma although ideally, he’d prefer to return to Arsenal and restart his career in England.
Napoli are reportedly open to allowing current first-choice ‘keeper, Pepe Reina leave the club, with some reports linking him with a move to Newcastle, thus leaving the door open for Szczesny to join the Neapolitans.
