Deal close: Arsene Wenger to agree two-year deal with Arsenal
|According to Mark Ogden of ESPN, Arsene Wenger will attend a board meeting today having already agreed a two-year deal.
Wenger, who is out of contract in the summer met with majority shareholder Stan Kroenke yesterday to discuss his future. The Frenchman has faced increased fan pressure this season, with many calling for Wenger to finally leave the club. Although Arsenal lifted their 13th FA Cup on Saturday, – Wenger’s seventh – failure to mount a considerable title challenge whilst not qualifying for the Champions League has not stopped the fan pressure.
Wenger’s deal has been agreed since November and it is likely that he will remain at the club if his authority is not challenged by any changes requested by Ivan Gazidis.
