Lucas Perez is set to leave Arsenal this summer, with Turkish giants Fenerbache in pole position to secure his services, according to Turkish outlet, AMK.
The former Deportivo man has struggled to nail down a starting spot in his first season with the Gunners and, at 29, is fast running out of time to break into the national squad for next summer’s World Cup.
Sevilla, Everton and West Ham had been keen on the Spanish striker, but it appears Fenerbache have won the race, by offering a £3million-a-year contract.
It has been confirmed by the player’s agent that Perez is looking for a way out at the Emirates.
“We have spoken with Arsenal and we have explained that we want to leave.”
“They have said that they are not going to put obstacles in the way, but they are not going to give the player away as a gift either.”
It seems a matter of when, not if, Lucas Perez will join a new outfit.
