Arsenal to launch third bid of £45m for Thomas Lemar

Arsenal will return with a £45 million bid for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar this month according to Rob Draper.

The fee £45 million fee may rise to £50 million, almost equalling Arsenal’s club record fee for Alexandre Lacazette. Arsene Wenger is incredibly keen on the player and has already made two separate bids of £30 and £40 million.

According to reports, Lemar is keen on a move to Arsenal but will force a move away from Monaco. The Champions League semi-finalists, however, are reluctant to sell Lemar following the sales of Bernardo Silva and with Tiemoue Bakayoko on the verge of a move to Chelsea.

Arsenal had reserved £100 million for Mbappé but have resigned themselves to the fact that he will not join the club. With Alexis Sanchez looking like he will leave the club, Lemar may well be a plausible replacement.
