After the early acquisitions of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke and Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, Arsene Wenger is eyeing his third and fourth signings of the summer.
In the latest rumour this morning, The Express is reporting that Arsene is planning a double swoop for Southampton’s big man Virgil Van Dijk and Celtic’s French under-20 striker Moussa Dembele.
Virgil Van Dijk is valued at £50 million but Southampton’s interest in bringing Calum Chambers back to the club might give Arsenal an advantage ahead of rivals Liverpool. Arsene’s previous interest in him during his tenure at Celtic could also be important in luring him to the club.
Arsene’s interest in striker Moussa Dembele, valued at £30-40 million, is very realistic considering the recent news emerging from Arsenal. Alexis Sanchez has told Chilean media that he wants Champions League football and it’s up to Arsenal to decide his future. If Sanchez were to leave, Dembele could well be a viable target for the Gunners who would need to replenish their forward line.
