Crystal Palace are planning a second bid for Arsenal defender Calum Chambers, according to ESPN.
Palace have identified the Arsenal man as one of their top targets this summer although they had their initial bid of £16 million rejected by Arsenal, who value Chambers at closer to £20 million.
The England under-21 international made 36 appearances for Arsenal in his first season but started only two in his second before being sent on loan to Middlesbrough last season. Despite being a part of a relegation campaign, Chambers had a solid season and attracted plaudits for his strong displays.
Crystal Palace are expected to make a second bid closer to Arsenal’s valuation, which could well land the defender, who may even have a buy-back clause inserted into his deal.
