In what will come as a major blow to Arsenal fans, Alexis Sanchez has met with PSG’s sporting director and chief executive ahead of a proposed €50 million move to the French giants.
Sanchez and his agent, Fernando Felicevich, were in Paris this afternoon to discuss terms with the Parisien club, although publicly, Arsenal have remained steadfast in the belief that the Chilean will be going nowhere this summer.
It is thought that PSG will submit an opening offer of £40.3 million (€45m), although that is thought that will later increase to £44.8 million (€50m). What may facilitate this deal is the relationship between Arsene Wenger and PSG owner, Nasser al Khelaifi, who is the founder of beIN Sports, a company which also employs Wenger for football analysis.
While Arsenal may try to keep Sanchez this year, it may be smart business to cut ties now and make a profit on the Chilean before he becomes a free agent next year.
