Arsene Wenger set to revamp interest in star winger as Lemar deal stalls
|Arsenal have been linked with Algerian playmaker Riyad Mahrez this summer and reports from France suggest that the Gunners are set to continue their pursuit of midfielder, as their deal for Thomas Lemar continues to stall.
The report states that the 26-year-old is turning out to be a serious option for the manager, Wenger, as his attempt to bring French youngster Thomas Lemar to London has so far been unsuccessful. Mahrez is being eyed by AS Roma, who have had a bid rejected by Leicester City, while Tottenham have also shown interest in a deal for the winger. It is understood that Mahrez is willing to leave his current club and Wenger may swoop to sign him before other clubs make a move, according to Nabil Djellit.

With Monaco now in a position whereby they want to keep their prized assets following the deals of Bernardo Silva and Tiemoué Bakayoko, the French club are have put a large asking price on Thomas Lemar. With such a high fee, Arsenal may well look to their second choice target as Wenger continues his summer spending.
