Swansea and Brighton target Arsenal defender as Newcastle drop interest

Swansea and Brighton are both interested in Arsenal defender, Carl Jenkinson after Newcastle signed Javi Manquillo last week, as reported by the Daily Mail. 

Arsenal are ready to sell the former Charlton man, who is set to leave the club before the end of the transfer deadline. Newcastle had been interested in signing the right-back but have since dropped their interest after the acquisition of Javi Manhquillo. 

Jenkinson was close to a move to Crystal Palace in January but failed to agree terms with the south London club. The 25-year-old only played one league game for Arsenal last season, and instead was relegated to Arsenal’s under-23 team for the remainder of the season.
