Arsenal vs West Bromwich Albion: Predicted XI
|
Arsenal face West Bromwich Albion in their next game in the Premier League as they attempt to get back to winning ways in the League.
After a shaky start to the season, the Gunners have been unbeaten for the last 4 games and have a 100 per cent record at home, so far. After an impressive display at Stamford Bridge, Wenger’s brigade will want to grab 3 points and put their early season woes behind them. Here is the team that the boss will probably pick for the match.
GK- Petr Cech
After being rested in the Carabao Cup match, he will be raring to go. The former Chelsea man has shown great consistency and has put to bed, all questions about his quality being affected by his age. The man is a legend and it has been a while since he has been part of a commendable title charge.
RCB- Laurent Koscielny
The captain’s return has made our defence look much more solid. Arsenal’s main centre half is almost perfect for being on one side of back 3 and his presence should let bring out the best from his adjacent wing back.
CB- Shkodran Mustafi
The vocal German has become an integral part of the team and he is the central figure in the defence. After an extraordinary performance against Chelsea, he will look forward to his next game and his next duel with a top forward.
LCB- Nacho Monreal
A constant calming effect on the entire team. He was seen instructing Kolasinac around in the Chelsea game and he is a no-nonsense defender. After being rested in the Carabao Cup match, he looks set to start in the Premier League ahead of both Per Mertesacker and Rob Holding.
RWB- Hector Bellerin
Arsenal’s Spanish speedster is slowly getting back to his best and a good game against West Brom where his speed can destroy the opposition is probably just what the doctor ordered. Bellerin’s poor form has been credited to transfer rumours and distractions but it is once again, time for the ex-Barcelona man to perform.
LWB- Sead Kolasinac
Arsenal’s player of the season so far. There was a huge hole to be filled at Arsenal physically and his presence will be a good way to counteract Tony Pulis’ strategy. Arsenal have 2 very experienced players on both sides of Mustafi, flanked by a couple of energetic wing backs, and that is a very dangerous combination.
CM- Granit Xhaka
A good display against Chelsea will boost his confidence and we should see him back to the form he had at the end of last season. Rested for the Doncaster match.
CM- Aaron Ramsey
The boss in our midfield at the moment. A complete player whose time has finally come. This has to be the season where he plays to his full potential consistently. Arsenal will rely heavily on him for delivering the good supply.
RF- Alex Iwobi
A spirited effort against Chelsea combined with injuries should give him a starting position. Danny Welbeck is out injured and Ozil is coming back from injury- something that should not take place against a Tony Pulis team. This is a chance for Wenger to give his young player a run in the first team- one he is likely to take.
LF- Alexis Sanchez
He will get back to back games. Scored one and assisted one in his last 2 games and he was not even at 100 per cent fitness. Should cause the Baggies a lot of trouble.
ST- Alexandre Lacazette
Lacazette has scored on both our League home games so far and will look to extend that run after a disappointing display against Chelsea. The club record signing is yet to hit top form and it is in games like this that his quality will be on display
