Borussia Dortmund striker’s father & agent fly to London to seal £53m Arsenal move
|Subject to a report published by German outlet Bild, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s father and agent have supposedly jetted themselves off to London to ensure that the Borussia Dortmund striker joins Arsenal in the January transfer window in a deal which is said to be worth £53m.
With Theo Walcott penning a contract at Everton and Alexis Sanchez’s future appearing to reside at Manchester United, the Gunners have been heavily linked with the Gabon international and it’s looking increasingly likely that the searing attacker could be drafted in as a dependable replacement for the Chilean in particular.
Aubameyang’s life at the Signal Iduna Park has hit a damning spate of adversity recently, after being suspended by the Bundesliga outfit 3 times in 12 months as punishment for ill-discipline.
The seemingly troubled 28-year-old marksman may be testing the letter of the law at Dortmund, but it hasn’t stopped him from bagging 21 goals in all competitions during the 2017-18 campaign, a record which places him firmly at the top of the tree when it comes to seasoned, prolific offensive weapons.
If it’s unrelenting pressure, guile and goals the north-Londoners are vying to instil in the squad with Sanchez skulking out the back door at the Emirates, Aubameyang is a striker which embodies all the necessary qualities and traits required both in and indeed outside of the 18-yard box.
Despite being an accomplished centre forward by trade, the inexhaustible attacking threat is also capable of manning the channels due to his ferocious turn of pace, and though Sanchez also harboured similar gifts, Aubameyang’s height makes him the more superior professional aerially, an integral plus in the goal scoring department.
