Arsenal & Tottenham Hotspur plotting summer swoop for teenage sensation
|Arsenal and close, bitter north-London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly set to lock horns in the summer transfer window as it’s emerged that the two Premier League outfits – according to renowned journalist Alan Nixon – are both plotting a swoop for Stevanage FC’s teenage sensation Ben Wilmot.
Wilmot, 18, has made 10 first-team appearances this season after breaking into the club’s senior fold and is valued at £1m, an asking price which is certainly a steel considering the young centre-half’s flourishing performances at Broadhall Way.
It’s said that Arsene Wenger and Mauricio Pochettino are both eager to add youthful invigoration to their respective defensive contingents, and Wilmot, a staunch defender who stands at 6’2′, would supposedly be the perfect homegrown acquisition.
Despite his tender age, Wilmot has somewhat established himself as hot property in League 2 thus far this term and has attracted notable interest from the likes of the two cited top-flight adversaries and potential suitors in the Championship, so with the world seemingly at his feet, who knows where the fledgling starlet will end up in his promising career.
