Arsenal target’s agent fails to confirm client’s future amid transfer speculation

Nabil Fekir is an attacking midfielder which has been earmarked for a summer move to Arsenal in recent weeks and amid the possibility of a move to the Emirates, the player’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes failed to confirm that the Frenchman would remain at his current employers Olympique Lyonnais next term.

Fire has certainly been stoked and Fekir, who incidentally pinpointed the Gunners as a supposed future destination, believes that an exit from the Ligue 1 outfit could be on the cards, with the glitz and riches of the Premier League seemingly set firmly within his sights, albeit peripherally .

Speaking to French outlet Telefoot – via a report published by Mirror – Bernes insists that it’s ‘too early’ to predict where the 24-year-old’s future lies, although there’s still a lot to be dissected from his utterances as there’s still plausible grounds to presume that the representative is playing down the ever-present rumour mill surrounding his client’s career path.

“Will Fekir still be at Lyon next season? It’s too early to talk about it,” he admitted.

“After considering my relationship with [OL president] Jean-Michel Aulas, we will make the best decision.

“We have time, that’s the straight line. There are important goals and he is already in a big club.”

Bernes’ remarks were presumably brandished in order to defuse Fekir’s own words, which formally painted an unclear picture from the creative offensive threat’s perspective regarding his prospects and aspirations for the coming campaign.

Fekir said: “Is this my last season at Lyon? I don’t know what the future holds for me. I’ve still got two years left on my contract. So, I’m still Lyonnais,”
