Robert Pires would ‘welcome’ unsettled Manchester United attacker at Arsenal

Arsenal hero Robert Pires insists that he would ‘welcome’ unsettled Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial to his former employers in the summer, with the searing Frenchman failing to nail down a consistent starting position in Jose Mourinho’s set-up at Old Trafford.
Martial was named in United’s matchday XI on Friday evening against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex, his 18th start of the campaign, although with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford also vying for supremacy amongst others, the 22-year-old’s qualities on the flanks are often disregarded.
Pires, who tampered with opposing rearguards during his career at the north-Londoners, is a great admirer of his fellow countryman, but believes that the adaptable offensive threat needs more undisputed game time, something he could presumably accomplish at the Emirates.
Speaking to the media – via The Sun – revealed: “I’m a big fan of Anthony Martial,
“He’s very fast, he has excellent dribbling skills and he has the potential to score a lot of goals, but I think he has to play more football.
“I don’t know why he isn’t playing more for Manchester United and Jose Mourinho needs to show more confidence in him. I would welcome him at Arsenal.”
Pires claimed three FA Cups and two Premier League titles under Arsene Wenger’s command and undoubtedly recognises raw talent when he sees it, and though Martial isn’t exactly a hidden gem, he certainly has room and time to improve and fine tune his skill sets, as there’s undoubtedly a substantial amount of expertise left to unearth in his youthful locker.
