Emile Smith Rowe delighted with new long-term Arsenal contract
|One of Arsenal’s rising stars, Emile Smith Rowe penned a new long-term deal at the north-Londoners on Tuesday after flourishing on the club’s pre-season tour of Singapore and the promising left-winger, who turned 18 on Sunday, is understandably delighted to have pledged his future to the Gunners.
Having netted his first senior goal against Atletico Madrid and providing his inaugural assist for Alexandre Lacazette against Paris Saint-Germain in Asia, the planet was duly introduced to one of Arsenal’s most exciting youth products since the emergence of Jack Wilshere in particular, and it seems as though he could go from strength to strength underneath Unai Emery in the first team next term.
Speaking of his latest deal to the club’s official website, Smith Rowe revealed the main reasons why he chose to remain a Gunner for the foreseeable future:
“To be honest it feels great for me. It’s something I’ve always dreamt of since I was young, so to sign a new contract with Arsenal… I’m just so happy and it feels surreal at the moment.” He said.
“Knowing how Arsenal play and knowing the background of the club is something I really look up to. The new head coach really inspires me so hopefully I can get chances in the first team to prove how good I am.”
The teenage sensation is in awe of his new surroundings and is also stunned to be in the same company as the players which he grew up idolising in his more formative, impressionable years, and though he’s still a novice amongst the club’s top brass, he feels as though he’s part of a unified ‘family’.
“It’s so crazy! Training with the players that Arsenal have is a dream for me, something that I’ve been dreaming of since I was a kid. To get the opportunity to train and play with them on tour was just an unbelievable feeling for me.” He added.
“I just feel so much more comfortable. The players are so welcoming. No one’s tried to leave me out of the group or anything, so when I’m at Arsenal, it feels like a family. Everyone’s just so together and I think that’s helped me so much on and off the pitch.”
