Mesut Ozil sets speculative minds at ease with positive statement of Unai Emery

Mesut Ozil has set speculative minds at ease following Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Newcastle United after admitting that he and Unai Emery have a ‘good relationship’, a positive statement which seemingly lays to rest any surfacing noises of a supposed feud between the two.
Emery has urged the 29-year-old playmaker to find an extra gear this season in order to maintain his status as the club’s creative talisman, however it’s thought that a fractious connection formed after the Spaniard omitted the German from his matchday fold that faced West Ham United at the Emirates earlier in September, despite initial beliefs that Ozil was indeed absent through illness.
The Gunners claimed their third consecutive win of the 2018-19 campaign at St. James’ Park and Ozil, who dispatched the pivotal goal of the testing tie, unreservedly voiced his delight of being involved in the former Paris Saint-Germain commander’s revolution.
“I am very happy to play for Arsenal and especially for the new coach.” He revealed to the media after the final whistle (via Metro).
“He knows what he wants and the team accepts that, we have a good relationship. We score and we are happy, even the players that don’t play, we are all team.”
In what was his 200th appearance for the north-Londoners on all competitions on the fifth anniversary of his debut, Ozil is pleased that he and his teammates took the tie by the scruff of the neck to snatch the spoils from the Magpies’ clutches, who rallied at the death to nab a consolations through Ciaran Clark.
“Really, 200? I’m happy but most important we take the three points,” he proceeded.
“Congratulations to the whole team, we played well. Newcastle were good, aggressive. We showed our passion and took the points.”
