Arsenal monitoring 22-year-old Atalanta BC centre-back

Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Atalanta BC’s centre-back Gianluca Mancini, a 22-year-old that’s raised eyebrows since breaking into Gian Piero Gasperini’s first-team fold this term.

Mancini has featured 14 times for the Serie A outfit during the current 2018-19 campaign and has guarded his department astutely, whilst consummately registering 4 goals in the process.

The Gunners started their maiden season under Unai Emery supremely, however defensive frailties have recently plagued the north-Londoners’ performances in the Premier League. Mancini may be relatively inexperienced, but he’s certainly showcased his glowing potential to the masses on a regular basis at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.

An article published by Italian outlet Corriere del Sport suggests that Arsenal, alongside a string of notable European rivals, are keeping a close eye on Mancini, although it’s not yet known if the aspiring enforcer is willing to relocate to foreign shores.

If Mancini is to remain in Italy, it’s believed that AS Roma would be prepared to lodge a bid for his budding services, but only if Kostas Manolas’ release clause is triggered in the summer transfer period.

Other than Arsenal and the Giallorossi, Borussia Dortmund are also thought to be tailing the Italy U21 international, meaning that a feisty battle for his signature could ensue if either respective party projects their alleged interest to the media.
