Arsenal prepared to reactivate negotiations for Argentina international

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to reactivate negotiations for Sevilla FC’s Ever Banega, an Argentina international midfielder, in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners were eager to acquire the 30-year-old’s services in January, although their supposed pursuit fell stagnant due to financial strains and restrictions.

Unwilling to admit defeat, however, The Mirror understands that the north-Londoners could revive their interest in Banega during 2019’s summer transfer period, and Unai Emery’s more than aware of what the industrious South American is capable of in the centre of the park.

Emery initially mentored Banega at Valencia CF, and the duo’s paths would cross once again at Sevilla, where the Spanish tactician coached the sought-after midfielder between 2014 and 2016.

Under Emery’s profound command at Los Hispalenses, Banega laid claim to two consecutive Europa League titles, a significant indicator of his influence and dexterity within the engine room.

Banega’s a hardened leader and his experience would be a hugely beneficial asset to Arsenal, if they were to acquire his expertise from the renowned La Liga outfit.

Emery’s revolution’s stalled since his arrival at the Emirates in 2018, but as he’s still altering Arsene Wenger’s long-standing foundations, an element of patience has to be observed.
