Arsenal make fresh £25m offer to sign 22-year-old star, club positive of reaching an agreement

Arsenal have made a fresh offer of £25m for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney and they are said to be positive of landing his signature, a report from BBC Sport has revealed.

The Scotland international has been on the club’s radar since the beginning of the previous month with manager Unai Emery wanting him to solve the concerns on the left side of the defence.

The Gunners had failed with an opening £15m bid for the player’s services earlier last month, and BBC Sport has now revealed that the club have made a renewed £25m offer for the 22-year-old defender.

The football expert added that the Gunners’ proposal includes an installment package rather than a one-time payment, but the club remain optimistic of pursuing the highly-rated left-back.

Tierney has been linked with a Premier League move over the past few years and this has resulted from the fact that he has been able to balance up with the attacking and defensive side of his game.

The Scot likes to bombard forward with every opportunity on the left flank and he has been particularly impressive with his crossing – something which has not been the case with Sead Kolasinac or Nacho Monreal at Arsenal.

On the contrary, he has been equally effective in terms of intercepting play from the opponent when on the defensive and that makes him the complete package when compared to the available options at the Emirates.

At present, Arsenal’s offer for Tierney matches up with Celtic’s reported £25m price tag and a potential agreement would mean that he would become the most expensive player in Scottish football history.

Former Hoops striker Moussa Dembele currently holds the record after linking up with French giants Lyon for £19.7m during the closing stages of the 2018 summer transfer window.
