‘Next Captain,’ Some Arsenal fans are delighted with fitness update from 24-year-old
|A section of the Arsenal supporters have expressed their delight after witnessing Hector Bellerin kick the ball for the first time since the anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in January.
The Spain international has been the undisputed choice on the right side of the defence over the past few years and he was sorely missed during the backend of the previous campaign, where the club lacked his presence, especially in the attacking scheme of things.
Since the close of the 2018/2019 season, the 24-year-old has been providing positive updates on the injury situation, and he has now posted pictures of him training with the ball at his feet.
Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter…

Bellerin may have begun with the individual training programme for the moment, but a comeback by the new Premier League season appears unlikely, given the club won’t take the risk of rushing him into first-team action.
As such, he could return to the mix after a month or so from the start of the 2019/2020 campaign, and that may witness Ainsley Maitland-Niles continue to command the right-back role unless the club pursue another player in the transfer market.
Arsenal have been largely subdued during this summer’s transfer window and Gabriel Martinelli has been the sole purchase from Brazilian minnows Ituano. The teenager could be seen in action during the Gunners’ opening pre-season friendly game against Colorado Rapids on Tuesday.
