Aubameyang and Lacazette to start, Predicted Arsenal lineup (4-2-3-1) to face Bayern Munich

Arsenal started their pre-season tour of the United States with a comfortable 3-0 win over Colorado Rapids, where a number of young graduates were offered the chance to impress.

However, with a testing challenge against Bayern Munich on Thursday, manager Unai Emery is likely to start with most of the senior players available at his disposal.

Team News:

Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding won’t feature as they continue to recover from their respective injury setbacks. On the other hand, Alex Iwobi, Lucas Torreira, Mohamed Elneny and Matteo Guendouzi remain unavailable after their recent international exploits while skipper Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel with the team.

Predicted Lineup:

Matt Macey was afforded with a rare appearance to impress in goal for the Gunners against Colorado Rapids. However, regular choice Bernd Leno should return between the sticks against the Bundesliga giants.

At the back, Emery should resort to the senior options and the game provides the players with another means of improving their fitness. Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis could feature at the heart of the defence with Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac occupying the right and left-back spots respectively.

In the midfield, Granit Xhaka seems a direct choice for one of the central midfield roles in the absence of Torreira and Guendouzi. Joe Willock should partner the Switzerland international and he has an opportunity to prove his worth to the manager with a strong showing.

Further ahead, we are backing Mesut Ozil to feature in the number 10 position where he often thrives without the additional burden of tracking back.

On the right-wing, new signing Gabriel Martinelli has the chance of retaining his spot after a lively debut where he scored an impressive chested goal.

Last season’s top-scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should slot into the left-wing role, thus allowing Alexandre Lacazette to lead the line as the sole centre-forward.

Predicted Arsenal XI (4-2-3-1) to face Bayern: Leno, Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Willock, Ozil, Martinelli, Aubameyang, Lacazette
