‘Looks the real deal’, some Arsenal fans rave about 20-year-old’s display vs Bayern Munich
|A selection of Arsenal supporters have praised the impact of young forward Eddie Nketiah during the club’s 2-1 friendly win over Bayern Munich on Thursday.
The Gunners have been relatively quiet in terms of their transfer business this summer, but there have still been positives from the fact that a number of young graduates have taken the opportunity to impress in pre-season.
Among those, Nketiah has caught the eye of some Gunners fans after excelling with a late cameo against Bayern, where he bagged the winning goal in the 88th minute.
Here are some reactions on Twitter towards the youngster’s performance….
Nketiah made the headlines in just his second competitive game during the 2017/18 campaign, where he scored a match-winning brace against Norwich City in the League Cup fourth round after coming off the bench.
However, that has not paved the way for him to break into the team on a regular basis, and his only other goal resulted from the final Premier League game of the previous season.
Nonetheless, he has the opportunity to make his mark this term with the departure of Danny Welbeck and the game-changing performance against Bayern will certainly have impressed manager Unai Emery.
The 20-year-old was only brought onto the field in the 81st minute against Bayern, but he made an instant impact with his tireless running while unsettling the opposition backline by winning his physical battles.
Ultimately, Nketiah found the net with a close-range tap-in and his impressive cameo should only enhance his prospects of commanding more gametime for the forthcoming season.
