Arsenal confident of agreeing deals for duo – Sky Sports reporter

Arsenal are understood to be confident of securing the services of both Kieran Tierney and Dani Ceballos during this summer’s transfer window, Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth has revealed.

The north London giants have been actively pursuing Tierney over the past month and they had recently failed with an improved £25m bid for the Celtic left-back.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid’s Ceballos has recently emerged as a transfer option with manager Unai Emery keen on covering up the void left by the departure of midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

Amidst this, Sheth has now provided a positive transfer update on the duo and believes the Gunners are confident that they can pursue their targets before the transfer deadline approaches.

“I’m led to believe there’s growing confidence Arsenal can get the deals for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos and Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney over the line,” he told The Transfer Show.

“Tierney on a permanent deal if they can sort out the structure of payment. Ceballos on loan because he sees his long-term future at Real Madrid, but he wants to get more game time now to impress Zinedine Zidane.”

Due to the restricted budget for the summer, the Gunners have been compelled to deal with staggered payments for their targets and that has proved the stumbling block towards an agreement for Tierney.

Still, there remains plenty of time to re-negotiate the terms of the proposal and a reasonable payment upfront should convince the Hoops into doing business for the Scotland international.

Ceballos, meanwhile, has caught the attention of Emery with his ability of playing in different midfield positions, but his arrival at the Emirates would require the green light from Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

Nonetheless, the Spaniard may only join the team on a temporary basis for the 2019/2020 season, considering he has set his sights on returning to the Bernabeu next summer.

Arsenal are currently on their pre-season tour of the United States and they are scheduled to face Fiorentina in their second game of the International Champions Cup tomorrow.
