‘Great movement off the ball’, some Arsenal fans are excited as young star makes instant impact on Leeds debut
|A selection of Arsenal supporters have praised the performance of young graduate Eddie Nketiah during his debut for Leeds United in the Carabao Cup.
The Gunners striker made the move to the Championship side on loan earlier this month and he was handed his debut from the starting lineup against Salford City in the League Cup 1st round on Tuesday.
Nketiah initially made a slow start to the proceedings, but he was able to gain confidence as the game progressed and scored the opening goal with his first shot on target in the 42nd minute.
The moment got a number of Gunners fans excited about the future of the 21-year-old striker and a few of them expressed their views on Twitter as the game progressed at Moor Lane.
Here are some of the reactions….
Nketiah had an exciting pre-season campaign with the Gunners and he managed to find the net on three occasions including a late winner in the friendly triumph over Bayern Munich.
Owing to this, there were suggestions that the youngster could take up the third striker role after the departure of Danny Welbeck, but the club had other thoughts in mind as they loaned him out to Leeds.
Nonetheless, the temporary stint should do plenty of good for Nketiah with the regular exposure to first-team football and hopefully, he can get into Unai Emery’s plans through a standout season in the second tier.
