The representative of Mesut Ozil has told Turkish-Football that the German won’t be parting ways with Arsenal despite being ignored for the recent Premier League clash at Liverpool.

The 30-year-old’s pre-season campaign was disrupted by the attempted car-jacking incident involving him and Sead Kolasinac, and security investigations thereafter meant that the duo would only report for training prior to the Burnley game this month.

The German has since missed the Clarets clash through an illness and this has been followed by his absence from the matchday squad against Liverpool despite taking part in the full training session with his teammates.

As a result, a report from The Sun recently presented doubts concerning the future of Ozil with the Gunners but Turkish-Football has now dismissed the speculation by stating that the playmaker will remain with the club, as communicated by his agent Dr Erkut Sogut.

Gunners head coach Unai Emery tended to ignore Ozil for the away games at different stages of the previous campaign where he had cited that the midfielder does not offer the necessary workrate on the road.

As such, it was not surprising that he was not selected against a Reds side with quick and fluidic movement, where the Gunners were anticipated to go through regular periods without ball possession.

Arsenal, who are third on the table, tackle north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the local derby this weekend. It will be interesting to see whether Ozil makes his first Gunners appearance of the season.
