A selection of Arsenal fans believe manager Unai Emery should start with the trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe during this weekend’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
Since the beginning of the campaign, a large section of the Gunners supporters have been drooling over the prospect of the above-mentioned trio starting the game together, but so far, it has not happened.
The attacking trident have played together during the backend of the previous two league games but they have struggled to find the cohesion with Lacazette receiving the least number of minutes among them.
As such, there is a growing expectation that Emery will start with the trio sooner rather than later and some fans feel the north London derby could be the right time to unleash them from the starting XI.
Emery went with a more defensive-minded formation against Liverpool last weekend with three central midfielders in the form of Granit Xhaka, Joe Willock and Matteo Guendouzi.
However, for the weekend’s game against Spurs, the Gunners boss should revert to the traditional 4-2-3-1 setup and this should witness Lacazette lead the line with a midfielder dropping to the bench.
Elsewhere, Lucas Torreira and Sead Kolasinac could make the push for starting roles. Torreira provided a promising second-half performance at Anfield where he grabbed the Gunners’ consolation goal in a 3-1 loss.
Kolasinac, on the other hand, could make his first league start of the season with Nacho Monreal being fancied to make the move to Real Sociedad before the European transfer deadline.
