A section of the Arsenal fans have heaped praise on young graduate Eddie Nketiah after he starred in the England Under 21s’ 3-2 win over Turkey on Friday evening.

The 20-year-old had an impressive pre-season campaign with the Gunners in the United States this summer and there was the anticipation that he could receive a more meaningful role under Unai Emery this term.

However, the young striker opted to join Leeds United on a season-long loan instead to secure valuable first-team experience and he has since been in a purple patch in terms of the goalscoring.

Nketiah has already contributed three goals for the Peacocks since the temporary move and on Friday, he carried the form over to the England Under 21s with a goal in either half against Turkey.

This has caught the attention of a number of Gunners’ faithful and a few of them have expressed their delight at watching the progress of the young centre-forward.

Nketiah has the gifted ability of finding himself in goalscoring positions in the box and that provides a similarity with first-team star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Still, the youngster is relatively inexperienced at the senior level and he has been offered with the perfect platform at Leeds to turn his potential into consistent performances before returning to the Emirates next summer.

Nketiah will be in action for Aidy Boothroyd’s side against Kosovo Under 21s on Monday night. Alongside him, Gunners teammate Reiss Nelson should feature after scoring the winning goal against Turkey.
