Arsenal have provided a fresh injury update on striker Alexandre Lacazette ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester United on the road on Monday night.
The Frenchman has played no part for the Gunners since the international break due to a nagging ankle problem from pre-season and he has already missed four games this month.
Ahead of the Red Devils clash, the north London club have revealed that Lacazette is still going through his rehabilitation for his left ankle and he will only return to training at the beginning of next month.
” Left ankle. Alex continues to rehabilitate the injury to his left ankle and is likely to be back in action in October,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
The absence of Lacazette has not hampered the Gunners this month with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continuing his fine form upfront with four goals in the past three games across all competitions.
The Gabon international has contributed a goal or an assist in each appearance for the Gunners this term and he will no doubt prove crucial in the forthcoming trip to Old Trafford to face Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Arsenal have not won at Old Trafford in the league since 2006 and the stadium has proved a bogey ground over the years. Elsewhere, the club have not won against a top-six team on the road since January 2015 and they will be hoping to put an end to these unwanted records on Monday night.
