‘Terrible’, ‘Atrocious’, these Arsenal fans slam one player after Leicester defeat

A section of the Arsenal supporters have slammed the performance of midfielder Matteo Guendouzi following the club’s 2-0 Premier League loss at Leicester City.

The Frenchman has been ever-present for the Gunners in the top-flight this season and he was named the club’s Player of the Month for September after coming up with top notch displays against Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

However, the midfielder has since failed to find the same level of consistency and against the Foxes, he was disappointing as he struggled to gain control in the centre of the park.

Guendouzi did manage an impressive pass percentage of 93.6, as per Whoscored, but he barely provided any threat to the opposition and was dispossessed more than any Arsenal player.

As a result, a number of Gunners supporters have criticised the Frenchman’s performance as he failed to cope with the workrate and movement from the Foxes midfield.

Twitter Reactions:

Similarly to Guendouzi, most of his Arsenal teammates failed to show up in east Midlands and the scoreline could have been more embarrassing, had Calum Chambers not come up with a couple of key interceptions in the first half.

Still, Chambers was largely at blame for the opening goal where he failed to track Jamie Vardy’s run and that strike pretty much summed up the team’s overall performance on the road.

Arsenal are already eight points behind the top four after just 12 games and they now face an uphill battle to finish in the Champions League spots unless there is a drastic improvement in the league form.

So What? He’s 19 or 20yrs, playing in the EPL. Why make him the scape-goat?
Why haven’t we got very good MFers around him? Don’t attack those who are giving their best and attack those who have failed to invest in our club.

What a joke the comment below is it’s not about his age. Still, skill and he lacks a lot at this early age, our club deserves better, with more significant experience needed. If we are clinical about players, why are we not clinical about coaches. Why has he not instilled n our players that going forward is what counts, where is the plan B Emery it appears that you don’t have one. Our play used to be a high-speed event, not the casual wait till they are set and then pass it out from the back until we lose it… Read more »

Arsenal team problem is beyond individual lack of performance. For many seasons now, we have not been able to assemble a formidable team that really fit our status. Defence had been week, we have no creative midfielders. In fact, our players are too small – especially in defence. English football is PHYSICAL. With the quality of strikers we have, other teams ought to be afraid to play us. Unfortunately, they are not afraid of us because they know once you put pressure on the weak midfield, it bounces on the fragile defence and the team collapses like a pack of… Read more »

I say the 1st thing we need is a good defensive coach which we have not had since Steve Bould was alllowed to do it for a few weeks. He was highly praised for his results. Wenger did not like that and put him back on the bench ! FACT.
